GSIS inaugurates new Tagum branch

Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) President and General Manager Wick Veloso led the inauguration ceremony for the newly constructed office building of its Tagum branch along National Highway (corner Purok Pioneer), Tagum City, Davao Del Norte last March 17.

Located in the booming lifestyle district of Tagum City, the modern two-storey office offers convenience and accessibility to more than 47,000 members and pensioners from Davao del Norte, Davao de Oro, and Davao Oriental.

The GSIS chief said, “This new building represents our continued pursuit to deliver the best ginhawa experience for all our stakeholders. Makakaasa po ang aming minamahal na pensioners and members na patuloy naming gagalingan at pagagandahin ang aming serbisyo sa inyo, para sa ginhawa ninyong lahat.”

GSIS Tagum branch serves 39,222 members, 8,122 pensioners, 147 remitting agencies, and 200 sub-agencies. Around 180 clients visit the office daily.

The office is also a stone’s throw away from local hospitals, shopping centers, and schools, where public transportation is accessible.

GSIS’s Tagum site will become even more accessible to clients as Tagum City is poised to be the new center of Davao Region. The local government is working towards becoming a “highly urbanized” city by 2025.

Further, the new office complies with the Anti-Red Tape Authority and Gender and Development requirements. It has sufficient rooms and facilities, a spacious lobby, and ample parking space to accommodate visiting clients.

GSIS Tagum branch moved to its fourth and newest location on February 1—a day ahead of its 22nd anniversary. The branch was renting a building along Osmeña Street prior to transferring to its permanent home. The lot and building are owned by GSIS, which translates to savings in rental fees.

This is the second new GSIS office unveiled this month. Last March 1, GSIS inaugurated its newly constructed Quezon City office along Elliptical Road, Diliman.  GSIS is slated to inaugurate its Tacloban branch on March 24.
