Marikina City – As part of its 88th Anniversary celebration, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) conducted a medical mission for the residents of Barangay Fortune, Marikina City on October 19, 2022. The Medical Services Department led the mission, headed by Satellite Division Chief Dr. Rouel C. Aparato, wherein a total of 261 patients, including children and adults, received free consultations and medicines.
Constituents of the barangay expressed appreciation to the Agency for delivering services that benefited individuals with medical conditions, particularly those who are unable to afford medical check-ups at centers and hospitals in their localities.
Ms. Charlene E. Velasco, 27, one of the recipients of the free electrocardiogram (ECG) services, thanked the PCSO for the conduct of this activity “Maraming salamat sa PCSO sa libreng consultation at ECG para sa akin at sa baby ko. Nawa’y hindi kayo magsawang maghatid ng mga misyong katulad nito para sa mga nangangailangan. Happy 88th Anniversary PCSO!”
Barangay Fortune Chairman, Hon. Rizalina Watson Teope expressed her deep gratitude, lauded the support and endeavor extended by the Agency, and urged residents to patronize various PCSO games. “Lubos po ang aking galak at tuwa sa maagang pamaskong handog na ito ng PCSO. Kami po ay lubos na nagpapasalamat dahil isa ang Barangay namin sa pinaabutan ng tulong medikal. Kaya sa publiko at lalo’t higit sa mga kabarangay natin, patuloy sana nating tangkilikin pa ang iba’t-ibang palaro ng PCSO nang sa gayon ay makapag-ambag tayo sa pondo nila na nailalagak sa mga medical missions at outreach programs na kagaya nito.”

PCSO continues to serve as the government’s charitable arm in serving the marginalized sector during these challenging times. The public’s engagement and patronage of PCSO’s various games enables the Agency to deliver on its mandate of raising funds for health programs and charitable works.
