he Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) capped its month-long Gender and Development (GAD) activities with a Pride Month celebration titled “Unmasking: Behind the Mask, Behind the Facade” held on June 27, 2025, at the GSIS Gymnasium.

“An inclusive workplace is a stronger workplace. At GSIS, we are committed to uphold respect and fairness for every member, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. This is because we believe that acceptance and inclusion lead to productive employees and better service to the Filipino people,” said GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso.

The event featured a fashion and talk show with special guests Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman; Drag Race Philippines finalist Tita Baby; NAIA, first Drag Supreme of Drag Den Philippines; and fashion storyteller Norman Peñaflorida. GSIS LGBTQIA+ employees also took the spotlight, sharing their personal stories of identity, self-expression, and courage.

The Pride celebration capped a series of GAD initiatives held throughout June. Earlier, GSIS conducted the first batch of Gender Sensitivity Training (GST) on June 16 to 17 in partnership with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), attended by 44 employees from the Head Office and branches. A planning and budgeting workshop followed on June 18 with PCW Chairperson Ermelita Valdeavilla as guest speaker.
