Leading digital solutions platform Globe is offering Libreng Tawag and Libreng Charging (LTLC) in flood-hit parts of Mindanao beginning December 28, 2022.

Two stations were initially set up at the San Luis National High School in Ramos 2, Brgy. San Luis and at the Arturo Lugod Gym in Brgy 22A in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.  They are operational until December 30, 2022, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Globe’s LTLC sites will provide a vital lifeline for affected communities, enabling them to stay connected with loved ones and access important information during this difficult time. The company will continue to assess the need to add more areas.

Heavy rains and flash floods caused widespread damage and disrupted Christmas celebrations in Mimaropa, Bangsamoro, and Regions 5, 8, 9, and 10.  It affected over 44,000 families and led to the evacuation of about 10,000 families. The agriculture sector also suffered losses estimated at P60 million.

Gingoog, together with Misamis Occidental, has been placed under a state of calamity due to the floods.

The Philippines is one of the countries most vulnerable to the impact of climate change, and events like these highlight the importance of resilience and preparedness.

Globe is committed to doing its part in building stronger, more resilient communities and relentlessly provides assistance through initiatives such as LTLC sites.
