The #SarapKatabiNgNagDowny campaign reinforces the importance of keeping clothes fresh, odor-free
Law & Odor: The People vs Mabahong Pambahay CASE B4NG50,
Downy Philippines on Youtube
When it comes to preserving the freshness of our clothing, it’s not only the outdoors that spoils our clothing’s freshness. Even in the comfort of our homes, especially with the current weather, we can experience odors in our pambahays that are borderline “illegal”, a valuable lesson that a couple of citizens learned the hard way with Downy’s “Law & Odor” campaign.
One case involves a smiling Mavi Velasquez, son of Team Payaman member Marlon Velasquez Jr., more commonly known as Junnie Boy, and Vien Iligan out to buy taho, only to find himself unexpectedly standing in a courthouse. The reason? The vendor detected an unpleasant odor emanating from his clothes, leading to a judge declaring his mabahong pambahay guilty. Another case shows Junnie Boy himself disposing of trash only to be met with a foul smell emanating from his bathrobe and sando. Even the garbagemen noticed the stench and observed that the Team Payaman member had not used Downy, a fabric softener brand by Procter & Gamble.
Momfluencers’ Laundry Realizations
The new Downy commercials highlighted an important laundry fact that using only detergents is not enough to keep clothes fresh and odor-free, even on our pambahay. A handful of “momfluencers” shared their personal experiences on this, leading them to realize #SarapKatabiNgNagDowny.
Mom content creator Odille Dagooc, more commonly known as Momshie Odille on social media, shared an unforgettable incident when her mother-in-law made a surprise visit to their home and embraced her children However, instead of a smile, her mother-in-law’s face turned into a stink face, as Momshie Odille’s in-law asked her, “Bakit ang baho ng mga damit ng mga anak mo?” The momfluencer was stunned and admitted that, back then, she was only using Downy on their family’s outside clothes. From that moment on, she decided that “lahat ng damit, dapat naka-Downy.”
Ulya Nikita, also known as Mama Ulya on social media, echoed the sentiment, stating, “I’ve been feeling good when I smell good,” but that “perfume and ligo are not enough.” She emphasized that all her clothes have to be good-smelling, “not only my panlakad.” Other influential moms like Regina Capiral (Mommy Chin), Macy Naguit or known as Mommy Macy, and Janie Tan more commonly known as Mommy Janie also support the message that even pambahays deserve the freshness of Downy
