From humble beginnings in Kuala Lumpur to becoming one of Southeast Asia’s most inspiring fashion entrepreneurs, Christy Ng is bringing her celebrated brand closer to Filipinos with the opening of her first-ever store in the Philippines on October 28, 2025, at Level 2, SM Megamall Building A.
Before Christy Ng became a household name, life wasn’t easy. Growing up in a modest family, she recalls times when they struggled to pay their electricity bills. Her father worked hard cleaning air conditioners to support the family. “When I was younger, I would feel intimidated walking into fashion stores — it was a luxury I couldn’t afford,” she shared.
Her entrepreneurial journey began unexpectedly. Years ago, during a trip to Thailand with friends, she bought a few pairs of shoes for herself from a flea market. Her friends loved them and asked to buy some too. “That’s how it all started — it was just a simple pasabuy,” Christy recalls. Encouraged by her friends, she began selling shoes online, eventually expanding into her own line of chic bags and footwear.
Today, Christy Ng’s brand has grown into a regional fashion powerhouse, admired for its timeless designs and exceptional craftsmanship. She takes pride in her data-driven team of creative professionals who release new designs every week and ensure quality through rigorous material testing. “Each bag goes through a series of abrasion tests to make sure it doesn’t chip easily,” she explained.
After exporting to the Philippines for over a decade, Christy decided it was finally time to open a local store. “For years, Filipinos would fly to Kuala Lumpur to buy our products — some would even book hotels or do pasabuy. It only made sense to open here,” she said.
Christy expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Filipino customers for their overwhelming support. “It’s truly a miracle that this dream came to life. I feel so blessed and excited to finally have a store here,” she said. “I want every Filipino who walks into our store to leave eager to come back again.”
When asked what sets Christy Ng apart from other brands, she simply smiled and said, “Come see it for yourself at our grand opening on October 28.”
