Mindanao Art 2024 opens on September 27 at SM Lanang

The 6th edition of Mindanao Art will officially open on September 27, 6:00 pm at SM Lanang in Davao City. Twenty seven (27) galleries from Mindanao and eight (8) from Visayas and Luzon are confirmed to participate in this year’s art exhibit.

This year’s art fair, which will run until October 6, 2024 joins the Museums & Galleries Month celebrations. Organized by Lawig-Diwa Inc. in collaboration with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the National Committee on Art Galleries (NCCA-NCAG), Mindanao Art has emerged as the most prominent art exhibition in the region.

With the continued support of NCCA-NCAG, this event not only highlights artistic innovation but also provides invaluable learning opportunities for local gallery owners, artists, and students. As a vibrant platform for interaction and appreciation, it stands as a testament to the flourishing and self-sustaining art scene in Mindanao.

This year’s theme, “Art on the Edge,” emphasizes the transformative power of creative expression that arises from the margins. Despite being often overlooked, Mindanao remains a culturally rich and dynamic island in Asia.
